Susan Angele, a Senior Advisor of Board Governance and a member of KPMG’s Board Leadership Center, talks with Sarder TV correspondent, Vanessa Tyler, about the types of corporate responsibilities for a typical Board of Directors. In this discussion, Angele covers the major legal obligations of a board to both shareholders and the company. She also provides a brief overview of the kinds of tasks board members are charged with including the hiring and firing of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), risk strategy, and capital allocation.

Along the way, she reported in Rochester, New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. In Dayton, Ohio, Vanessa was ‘the most watched’ solo weekend anchor for the CBS affiliate.

She was also an Adjunct Professor at Essex County College passing on the knowledge of the news industry to those interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism.
