What is the philosophy of shared experience?

David Ahearn  (Author & Co-founder, Four Day Weekend)

David Ahearn explains the philosophy of shared experience that is used in improvisational theater. He talks about when actors are improvising they take an idea and make it shared idea and then work hard together to make it work as a theatrical experience. He discusses how managers can use this same philosophy to encourage the sharing of ideas and coming up with solutions together in an environment where employees who propose ideas are not shot down and are listened to. Ahearn points out that it is not money, but more feeling appreciated and listened to and celebrated is what leads to high employee retention.
