Will financial professionals need to change their image from being seen as bean counters to value providers?

Blake Christian (Author & Tax Partner, HCVT LLP)

Blake Christian discusses different ways in which CPA’s can be proactive in building a relationship with their clients. He talks about how communication is key in being able to help clients with their financial issues. According to Christian, CPA’s need to know about their client’s life events either before or as they happen including buying a car or boat or a business, or getting married or divorced. He suggests that it makes a lot more sense to be proactive then having to undo their client’s bad decisions after the fact. He points out that the days of looking through the rear-view mirror are over.
