Nelson P. Repenning

Author & Professor, at MIT Sloan School of Management Nelson P. Repenning is the School of Management Distinguished Professor of System Dynamics and Organization Studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Professor Repenning currently serves as the faculty director for MIT Sloan’s Executive MBA program. He is also the cofounder of the industry-leading work design consultancy, ShiftGear Work Design, where he serves as the Chief Social Scientist. His work focuses on understanding the factors that contribute to the successful implementation, execution, and improvement of business processes. Professor Repenning has received several awards for his work, including best paper recognition from both the California Management Review and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. Nelson collaborates with senior executive teams and has extensive experience in major organizational transformations. He speaks and teaches regularly to companies and industry groups. He is currently working on a book (co-authored with Don Kieffer) on work design.
